Pham Hoang Anh was born in 1967 in Hai Phong. Drawing and painting became a passion very early in his life. After secondary school, he decided to join an art academy,going onto The Fine Arts Department of Hue University from where he graduated in 1998 . His talent gained early recognition amongst his peers. He joined the Vietnam Fine Arts Association in 2000 and is now a professor at the university he graduated from. Anh has produced a very distinctive and personalized work. His preferred mediums are silk, cardboard and canvas. Anh likes depicting people in an elegant and traditional atmosphere with a preference for natural , religious or court life environments. His colours are very personal : a mixture of contrasted effects through bright and strong dominant tones, softened with soft,fluid pastel borders. Anh enjoys a growing following from national and international collectors,including Thailand, Japan, France and United Kingdom.
